YOUR IMPACT IN 2025. Our movement for justice continues no matter what →

Together we are fighting for due process: our SAFE Network helps to grow public defender–style programs that provide legal services for people facing deportation.

Keeping Young People out of the System: Our coalition helped defeat harmful legislation in Louisiana that would have funneled more children into adult prisons.

Defending Bail Reform: In Texas, Vera helped block a constitutional amendment that would expand pretrial detention and force judges to deny bail to more people.

Making Prisons Safer: We continued our partnerships with states to redesign prison housing units grounded in dignity, community, and healing.

Expanding Housing Access: We helped introduce bills in Maryland, Minnesota, and Oklahoma to limit housing discrimination against formerly incarcerated people.

Vera continues to advocate for human dignity, equal justice, and stronger, safer communities.
