When it comes to attacks on our democracy, 2025 was among the most difficult years we've faced as an organization.
Extreme partisan forces passed a racially gerrymandered map in Texas to give themselves an unearned advantage in the midterm elections — a move that set off a ripple effect nationwide. Anti-democracy lawmakers in Missouri then pushed through a redraw that could allow them to steal one more seat. In Utah, partisan actors passed a new gerrymandered map and tried to undermine voter-approved reform.
But in the midst of these attacks, grassroots supporters like you helped us meet this unprecedented moment.
And all across America, voters have stood up against gerrymandering. Voters in California resoundingly passed Proposition 50 to cancel out Texas's gerrymander. Backlash continues to brew in Missouri as voters take their gerrymandered map to the ballot box. And fairness prevailed in Utah when a court struck down the state's manipulated map.
So much of this would not have been possible without you, Pamela. Whether you donated to defend fair maps, signed a petition to protect our democracy, or contacted your member of Congress to speak out in support of fair representation — I am deeply grateful for your unwavering support, however you've been able to show up at this moment.
