We're setting a goal to raise $5,000,000 before our upcoming Texas Ethics Commission filing deadline at midnight on September 29th.
We know that you're probably getting a lot of fundraising emails right now. But we wanted to personally reach out and share why we think a donation to help elect Beto as Texas' next governor is one of the best investments you can make today. Here are just three reasons:
1) To defeat Greg Abbott in seven weeks, we're continuing to build the biggest organizing program that Texas has ever seen. But we need the financial resources to hire organizers, train volunteers, and open new offices in every single part of Texas.
2) Greg Abbott started this race with more than $50 million in the bank. We're relying on grassroots contributions, which means that we're relying on folks like you pitching in what they can afford to help us compete against Abbott's corporate mega-donors.
3) Beto has a positive, unifying vision for the state of Texas. He's focused on the things that will improve Texans' daily lives – world-class schools, expanding Medicaid, and great jobs that pay a living wage. Greg Abbott is leading this state down the wrong path, and his extremism — including an abortion ban with no exceptions for rape or incest — is hurting the people of Texas.
