Pamela, when the All On The Line campaign was founded in 2017, Attorney General Eric Holder and President Barack Obama set out with a bold purpose: to fight the gerrymandering that's been holding back our democracy for so long.
It was an ambitious goal, but one we know is essential.

After the 2010 midterm elections, lawmakers in many states intentionally redrew districts through a hyper-partisan lens. Why? They'd rather hold on to power than answer to their constituents in a fair and democratic process.
As late as 2021, The Hill reported that Republicans were "still benefiting from favorable maps they drew themselves after the 2010 midterm elections."
But this grassroots movement never backed down.
We rallied fair maps supporters around the country. We helped states enact reforms. And heading into the 2022 elections, The New York Times declared the new map "the fairest congressional map in 40 years."
Now, on the doorsteps of this year's elections, we're also looking ahead to the next round of redistricting — it'll be here sooner than you think.
We have a comprehensive 10 Year Plan to get us all the way there — including grassroots mobilization and public education, holding legislators accountable, and advancing redistricting reforms and policy changes at both the state and federal levels. Together, we'll protect the fair maps we've achieved and build a truly representative democracy.
Yes, the work we're doing is tough and takes serious resources to be successful. When they founded this project, President Obama and A.G. Holder knew this wasn't going to be a quick fight, but they knew it's a worthy one — and one we know we can win if each of us does our part.
Thank you,
Marina Jenkins
