Pamela,

On Monday, Attorney General Eric Holder sent you a note to remind you that progress is not inevitable.

"Moral arcs don't bend with certainty. We need to do the work."

The A.G.'s full note is below. Take a read and then please make a contribution towards our end-of-month fundraising goal to power All On The Line's work for this election and beyond.

Thank you,
All On The Line

Team,

Anyone who tells you progress is inevitable is mistaken, team.

Since our nation's founding, the journey of American democracy has moved in every direction. We've gone forward and backward, won progress and seen it wiped away.

We've seen that clearly in our lifetimes. A woman's right to choose, climate reform, voter suppression, criminal justice reform: Forward progress is not guaranteed.

Because here's the hard truth, Pamela: Moral arcs don't bend with certainty. We need to do the work.

We must pull the arc towards justice. Your work with All On The Line helps make that happen by organizing so every voice can be heard. And your grassroots investment today will make an immediate impact on All On The Line's work before and after November 5 to help power their long-term fight for fairness.

We live in an unprecedented time where we face tremendous resistance to the basic promises of our democracy — that every voice matters, that everyone has a fair say and an equal vote.

But that resistance can help build our democratic muscle, if we push forward and don't give up. From Valley Forge, to Gettysburg, to Seneca Falls, to Normandy, to Selma, to Stonewall, every generation of Americans has been called upon to defend our democracy, and every generation of Americans has done so.

This is now our time. Ours cannot be the first generation that fails to defend and enhance our democracy.

Please, make a gift to support All On The Line's long-term work of protecting our progress for a representative democracy.

Onward,

Eric H. Holder, Jr.
82nd Attorney General of the United States
