Sen. Joe Manchin is once again trying to pass the Dirty Deal — a dangerous giveaway to the fossil fuel industry. It's his last-ditch effort to secure a win for Big Oil before he finally leaves office in January.
This is our chance, once again, to join with frontline communities to protect them from the Dirty Deal and more destructive oil and gas projects. By making our voices heard, we can make sure this bill dies in the Senate.
This is the third time Manchin has tried to pass his Dirty Deal.
If he's finally successful, it would allow Big Oil to more easily force through dirty, dangerous fossil fuel projects in any community where they want to build them, limiting the voice of the public in the process and gutting bedrock environmental regulations.
New fossil fuel projects will accelerate the climate crisis, putting communities that are already treated as sacrifice zones at even greater risk of being pummelled by climate disasters.
This bad bill has been condemned by both frontline communities and politicians from both sides of the aisle. It's simple: The Dirty Deal is a dangerous fossil fuel giveaway and it must be stopped.
The climate movement has come together to block Manchin's Dirty Deal each and every time he's proposed it in the past. Now, as Manchin pushes it one last time before he leaves office for good, we need to fight hard to stop it again.
We don't need more dirty, dangerous fossil fuel energy with even less community oversight and fewer environmental protections. Tell your senators to stop the Dirty Deal today and to instead commit to a just transition to an equitable, renewable energy future.
Thank you for taking action,
