Whoa, that thing that happened/he said at the debate was wild/awesome/scary

Indivisible

Pamela,

OK, we're going to level with you here. This email was written before the debate, and we have no idea what happened. All the other emails you get in the next hour? Also written before the debate. Sometimes candidates accidentally send their "I just walked off the stage" emails before the event starts, which kind of gives away the game.

But without seeing tonight's debate, we already know a few things. Trump is a twice-impeached convicted felon who tried to violently overturn the last election. He's running for president to keep himself out of prison, but if he wins, he'll spend the next four years dismantling our democracy, enacting a wish list of Christian Nationalist policies, and seeking revenge.

  • He killed Roe, and will further erode reproductive rights the first chance he gets.
  • He wants to use the US military to crush nonviolent protests and round up our undocumented neighbors into detention camps.
  • He has a plan to replace career civil servants throughout the government with MAGA sycophants.
  • He could nominate 1-4 MORE Supreme Court Justices.
  • He's pledged to repeal the Affordable Care Act, gut education spending, and explore cuts to Medicare and Social Security.
  • He wants to end US efforts to combat climate change.

And perhaps most importantly, we know this: We've got to do everything in our power to keep this wannabe autocrat as far away from the White House as humanly possible.

If YOU happen to agree, here are a few things you can do right now to make a difference in this election:

  1. If you are in a battleground state, swing district, or one of our other target geographies (full list here) sign up for Neighbor2Neighbor and knock some doors over the coming days. This is a brief moment when people are tuned into political news, and YOU can help frame the narrative for them and turn them out to vote this November.
  2. No matter where you live, you can sign up to send postcards, phonebank, or join our texting cohort. We know the voters we need to reach to win, but we need volunteers to help us do the outreach. Choose the tactic that's right for you and sign up!
  3. If you have friends in swing districts or battleground states, you can send them a message RIGHT NOW to encourage them to volunteerWe've got instructions to help you here.
  4. Join the next informal chat with our co-executive directors Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin this Monday, July 1, at 4pm ET/1pm PT. We can't give you a take on the debate right now, but Ezra and Leah will have a lot to say about it on Monday -- and more importantly, they'll have actionable advice on how to talk about the main media moments from the debate with voters.
  5. And finally, powering all this incredible work requires money -- so if you're able to chip in to fuel the grassroots organizing that'll defeat Trump this November, chip in here

OK, that's it for us tonight (and again, full transparency, we wrote this yesterday). Expect more from us about what actually happened in the debate in the coming days.

Thanks for watching, thanks for reading, and thanks for taking action to defeat Trump and his MAGA movement this November.

In solidarity,
