No one is above the law. Even Trump.

Earlier this week, we told you about our plan to run a full-page ad in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, calling on the Georgia Court of Appeals to let the trial of Donald J. Trump proceed without delay.

Dear MoveOn member,

Earlier this week, we told you about our plan to run a full-page ad in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, calling on the Georgia Court of Appeals to let the trial of Donald J. Trump proceed without delay.

We are still $35,000 away from the funds we need to run this ad, and we need to make up this shortfall today if we're going to get in front of not only the members of the Court of Appeals but also thousands of Georgians who are deciding whether or not to go to the polls this November. Will you chip in $9?

Honestly, it is a dark time for America's justice system.

The former president of the United States has been charged with attempting to overturn the 2020 election. He has been charged with stealing and mishandling classified national security documents, putting our military, intelligence operatives, and diplomats in danger. He has been charged with heading a literal "criminal enterprise" to overturn the election results in Georgia, including intimidating election officials.1

We'd hope that the president would be held to the highest standards and that crimes like these would be prosecuted immediately to show that nobody is above the law. Instead, we're seeing a coordinated effort to delay these trials until after the election.

Whether it be the MAGA majority on the Supreme Court stalling for months in deciding on Trump's bogus immunity claim or Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon "indefinitely postponing" the classified documents case for specious reasons, the Trump-stacked federal judiciary isn't working for the law—it's working for MAGA.2

Now the Georgia Court of Appeals has decided to hear an appeal to disqualify Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis from overseeing his case.3 They've set the hearing for October 4, but they have the power to move that date earlier—and we need public pressure to make that happen.

Georgia is our last chance to see Donald Trump prosecuted for election crimes before the November election. Chip in $9 to help us run a full-page ad calling on the Court of Appeals to move the case forward!

Andra, this newspaper ad isn't just about reaching the Court of Appeals—it's about reaching would-be voters in a critical state that President Joe Biden won by just 11,779 votes in 2020.4

We need to remind these voters that Trump committed these crimes, and that they have the power to hold him accountable even if the courts refuse to.

Your donation will help us do three things:

  1. Run a full-page ad in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution: If we can raise enough funds, our ad will call on judges overseeing Trump's cases to uphold the American people's constitutional right to a speedy trial and stop the delays.
  2. Deliver our petition to the Georgia Court of Appeals: We will deliver our petition to the court with more than 25,000 signatures, amplifying the voices of thousands of Americans who demand justice and accountability.
  3. Demand that judges stop kicking the can down the road: By raising awareness through this ad, we can put pressure on the judicial system to treat Trump's cases with the urgency they deserve.

We have seen the power of public pressure before. Together, we can make a difference and ensure that justice is served. But we can't do it without your support. Help us raise $35,000 to run this ad!

Will you donate $9 to help us run this full-page ad and deliver our petition demanding a speedy trial for Trump?

Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn's work? The MAGA movement's book bans have forced teachers and librarians across the country to remove books from their shelves and censor what young people can learn. MoveOn is fighting back, including by filling a "Banned Bookmobile" with books that the far right has banned and driving it to key cities and towns to raise the visibility of book bans, hand out banned books for free, and bring people together to stop censorship. To keep up the fight against book bans and the MAGA politicians who support them, we need your help.

Will you make a gift to power MoveOn's critical work?
