When Pioneer Natural Resources, the largest oil company in Texas, tried to pull off a fossil fuel mega-merger with ExxonMobil, the Federal Trade Commission discovered evidence that Pioneer was illegally colluding with OPEC, the oil cartel, to keep gas prices high. Now, Senate Democrats are urging the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate Pioneer for fossil fuel price collusion.
