First things first: The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee is the official party committee dedicated to electing Democrats to statehouses. And during the 2022 midterm elections, that's exactly what we did with the help of our grassroots supporters: We FLIPPED chambers in Minnesota, Michigan, and Pennsylvania for the first time in decades. We defended must-hold Democratic trifectas in Colorado, Maine, and New Mexico – and created FOUR more. And we protected the veto power of two Democratic governors in key states – Wisconsin and North Carolina – giving them a critical tool to fight back against extreme Republican legislation. This was no small feat – and we're proud of all these wins. But since there are no "off-years" with state legislative elections happening every year, our work at the state legislative level is still underway. Right now we're already hard at work planning to flip state legislatures in 2023, protect our democracy during the 2024 election, and to build Democratic power in the years to come.
