The U.S. Department of Justice is now pressing criminal charges against the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers—two pro-Trump white nationalist groups—for seditious conspiracy to prevent the "lawful transfer of presidential power by force" on January 6, 2021.1
In a chilling legal document, federal prosecutors say that Enrique Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys, had specific plans to gain control of key buildings in Washington in an effort to overturn Joe Biden's election.2
Andra, these disturbing developments show that Trump and MAGA Republicans are willing to go to violent and deadly ends to install Trump to a second term.
And now, Trump's next coup is unfolding in slow motion before our eyes. Trump is laying the groundwork to install himself in the White House in 2024 by building an apparatus of election theft at the state level.
Trump's goal is to install loyalists into state offices where they will have the power to oversee elections, count and throw out votes, and declare the winner of the 2024 presidential election.
This is why MoveOn is doing something we've never done in our 23-year history: We've launched a multimillion-dollar effort to defeat Trump-backed secretaries of state across the country and stop Trump's coup in its tracks.

A confidential witness who traveled to Washington with the Proud Boys has told federal investigators that the Proud Boys had specific intentions of executing Vice President Mike Pence and Speaker Nancy Pelosi if they got the chance.3
At a campaign rally earlier this year, Trump stated shamelessly: "There's a famous statement: 'Sometimes the vote counter is more important than the candidate.'"4
Steve Bannon said it outright: "We're taking over all the elections."5
