Abbott single-handedly cost Texas $4.2 billion.
Earlier this month, Abbott once again hurt the people of Texas by implementing a needless border blockade that jacked up inflation, raised prices, killed jobs, hurt businesses, and slowed down the supply chain.
In the end, Abbott's stunt single-handedly cost Texas more than $4.2 billion, 36,000 jobs, and $240 million in spoiled produce.
While Abbott brags that this "financial pain is necessary," we think it's necessary that he finally pays the price for the economic chaos that he's unleashed on everyday Texans. That's why we're sending Abbott a bill for the $4.2 billion in economic losses that he owes the people of Texas.

Abbott's border blockade didn't make Texans safer; it only made things more expensive. Beto's running for governor to focus on solutions, not stunts — to unite people around the popular things that we want to accomplish together: fully funding public schools, creating jobs with living wages and great benefits, and expanding Medicaid so people can afford to see a doctor.
