This has been an outstanding month, and the campaign is the strongest it's been since we first hit the trail in November. As this month comes to a close, I hope you'll help us end it on a high note by making a contribution.
We traveled the state, east to west and north to south. Big town halls in Comal County and Missouri City where we proved that this campaign is taking no one for granted, writing no one off. We came with the same big, aspirational message: We're going to bring Texans together to focus on the big things: great jobs, world-class schools and the ability to be healthy enough to live to our full potential.
We also brought together statewide media for press conferences on the inflation that Abbott is causing in Texas, with big viewership across the state. Voters throughout Texas know that he's responsible for higher property taxes, higher electricity bills and higher food prices at the store.
Related to that, we went to our border ports of entry to fight for small businesses that were being crushed by Abbott's border business blockade — something that this state's Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller called "economy killing" for Texas. Local, statewide and national outlets all carried the message and helped us connect the dots for Texas voters who are paying more at the grocery store because of Abbott's costly political stunts.
In other words — whether in person at town hall meetings across the state, or over the airwaves and digital media — we are reaching the voters who will decide the outcome of this election, making sure they know how badly Abbott is hurting this state and how much we are going to help the people of Texas.
We must be doing something right, because at the end of the month, Cecile Richards joined our campaign as our national finance chair. To have someone so well known for her work on behalf of labor, voting rights and reproductive freedom join our cause — and to have her personal connection to the last great governor of the state of Texas, Ann Richards — means the world to me and only improves our prospects.
I feel really good about what we're doing, where we are and where we can go from here.
I am grateful for your help, and I am so fortunate to be running this race with you and for the great people of Texas!
Beto
