Pamela,
Eight people – including six Asian American women – were just killed at three spas in the Atlanta area.
They were slain by a 21-year-old white man who bought a gun just hours before the shooting rampage.
While we don't fully understand the shooter's motives yet, we do know that racism, misogyny, and easy access to firearms cause violence and death that overwhelmingly impacts minority communities.
It's past time for Congress to comprehensively address these three deadly forces. Sign our petition right now and urge them to take immediate action that saves lives and reduces gun violence.
Hate crimes against Asian Americans have reached their highest point in a decade, with a 150% increase in 16 of America's largest cities in 2020.
Around 4.5 million American women have been threatened with a gun, and they're 21 times more likely to be killed than women in other high-income countries.
Congress must combat racism and misogyny – and make guns harder to get. It's on all of us to make sure they pass laws that stop these hate-filled shootings.
Thank you for honoring the lives we lost this week with action.
