I know we've been talking a lot about expanding the map for Democrats over the past few months. As the DNC's new deputy executive director, I hope you'll give me a second to explain exactly what that means and how you can get involved:
Old-school campaigning is a lot about math. Oftentimes, campaigns will look at recent polls and who voted in past elections and make decisions about who to talk to, spend time with, and spend money on based on those calculations. That leaves a lot of people out of the process -- first-time voters, folks in rural communities, communities of color, and more -- and that's a big mistake.
In 2020, we saw a huge surge in grassroots enthusiasm, which allowed the DNC to make unprecedented investments in forming relationships with people all across our country -- not just picking and choosing. And that paid dividends -- just look at our successes in traditionally red states like Arizona and Georgia.
Pundits and experts doubted us, but organizers who were determined to change the turnout math in their communities talked to their neighbors, registered their friends and families to vote, and won. Thanks to them, we have a Democratic Congress and White House dedicated to fighting for working families. Now, our most pressing challenge is to make sure we can preserve those relationships so that we can keep electing Democrats year after year.
If you're able, please make a $7 donation to the DNC today. Every penny will be used to help hold Republicans accountable, run effective organizing programs, protect the right to vote, and so much more in all 50 states, territories, and Washington, D.C.
Republicans are going to fight tooth and nail to win back power from us in 2022 and 2024. We know that they're well-staffed and well-resourced, but let me tell you this: They cannot buy the kind of organizers, volunteers, and grassroots supporters we already have on this Team.
I may be new here, but I'm already so inspired by the work we're doing at DNC HQ -- and that is largely because of supporters like you. We are starting conversations early, keeping up relationships with folks on the ground, and continuing to organize in communities across our country to help expand the Democratic map. All of that work is incredibly important -- but it's also a big investment. So, I have to ask:
Will you donate $7 right now to help fortify our Democratic infrastructure in the years ahead? Even by just chipping in a few bucks, you'll send a strong message that Democrats aren't losing ground in 2022, 2024, and beyond -- we're gaining it.
My current job here is to work in service of the DNC staff, but at the end of the day, we're all working together in service of grassroots supporters like you. You are the heart and soul of this party, and I couldn't be more proud to work alongside you.
Thanks for being on this Team,
roger

Democratic National Committee
P.S. If we do not preserve the relationships we formed with supporters over the past four years, we could stand to lose our Democratic majorities in 2022 and 2024. So, if you're able, will you make a $7 donation to the DNC today to make sure we can organize to help elect Democrats at every level in every ZIP code in the next few years?
