Dear Pamela, It's hard enough for so many of us to be home together sharing the same internet connection for school, work, and streaming. But Comcast is making it even harder for American households during the pandemic! The nation's largest internet service provider has slapped a data cap on many of its customers' internet usage, and is charging overage fees that could top out at $100 a month! During this national health crisis when affordable and reliable home internet is more important than ever, Comcast's decision to cap data and charge big overage fees is just plain wrong. Sign our petition to Comcast to drop the data cap. Together, we can stop Comcast's money grab! We know consumer pressure works in getting companies to change how they do business. Comcast recently delayed its 1.2 TB internet data cap on residential customers in Northeastern states after more than 75,000 consumers spoke out against it. But Comcast has been capping data and charging overage fees to people in the rest of the country since 2016 — which is blatantly unfair. During COVID-19, affordable and reliable home internet is more important than ever. Which makes limiting internet data, and charging exorbitant overage fees, just a callous money-grab. Join thousands of other consumers in telling Comcast to be part of the solution, not part of the problem, during the pandemic! Thank you for taking action. And you can help ramp up the pressure by sharing this petition with family and friends, and on social media. Tim Marvin Consumer Reports |
