We worked so hard to elect Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and Democrats up and down the ballot last year. But that doesn't mean our work is over -- far from it.
Right now, Democrats are fighting for real pandemic relief, combating climate change, and working to expand the right to vote. To make our policies a reality, we need to not only hold onto our slim Democratic majorities, but build on them.
If I have learned anything in my 22 years in the Senate, it's that if we let Republicans gain an inch, they are going to take a mile. We have to make sure our Democratic infrastructure is stronger than ever if we hope to compete in the coming elections. Our next big test is only two days away -- our February end-of-month fundraising deadline.
My friends at the DNC tell me that we need just 11 more donors from your area to hit their goal and stay on track to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in the years ahead. This is a test of the power of this movement, so I am personally asking:
Will you make a $7 donation before Sunday's deadline? I want to make sure they won't come up short of this important goal and give Republicans a head start on the elections in 2021, 2022, and beyond.
I've seen what grassroots supporters can accomplish. I can't thank you enough for being a part of this team and this movement.
But we cannot rest on our laurels if we want to secure Democratic success in the years ahead. We must keep building up our organizing infrastructure nationwide, invest full-scale in state parties, and make sure we have the necessary resources to fend off voter suppression.
Can I count on you to chip in $7 to the DNC before Sunday's deadline? With your support, Democrats nationwide will have the party infrastructure needed to be competitive -- and win.
Thank you for all your help. With you on our side, I feel confident about our future.
