I am about to ask you to make a contribution to help reach 5 million donations by the end of this month. But first, I hope you will allow me just a moment to say why this goal matters so much to the success of our campaign.
Here is the truth: Reaching this goal won't be easy. But it is very important that we try to get there in order to have the resources to win this race.
As you know, I do not spend my time traveling the country asking big donors for money. We will not have a super PAC. And I am not a self-funding billionaire ready to throw tens of millions of dollars into this race.
Our only path to victory is from lots of people making small donations. That is truly the only way we will build the kind of campaign that can win this election.
It is going to take a lot of donations to keep up with our opponents backed by the billionaire class, which is why I am asking you directly:
I am very proud of how we're funding this effort from more than 1 million people contributing what they can.
That's important. Because as long as we continue standing together, we're going to win.
