Hey, it's Rachel from Beto for America! Welcome to your regular dose of what's happening across Team Beto - from what music Beto's listening to on the trail to how every single dollar contributed to this campaign is helping create a grassroots movement across the country.

In each issue, we'll run down where we're going, what we're building and who we're bringing into this campaign along the way. You won't want to miss it - so sign up to get You're in the Write Place delivered directly to your inbox.

ROADRUNNER

First things first. What's Beto up to on the trail? In each issue we'll spotlight where Beto has been, what's coming up and how you can plug into campaign events in your community.

We often talk about how Beto's policies are informed by the people he meets every day in communities across America. This week Beto made his seventh trip to Iowa, where he met a man named James who shared his story about navigating a health care system out of reach for too many while also fighting cancer.

It's people like James and people in every state and community - those who may have felt discounted, ignored or overlooked - that Beto believes in, and that Beto will fight for as president.

Here's where Beto will be in the coming weeks 👀

BLUEPRINT

This campaign is powered by all of you. And we know that every single contribution that comes into our campaign are your hard-earned dollars. So we want to make sure you know where those dollars are going to build this campaign.

In just the past few weeks, your contributions have allowed us to:

  • Bring on four new senior members of our team leading the campaign's rapid response, research, political and data operations.
  • Open 11(!) field offices in Iowa, 2 offices in South Carolina and a volunteer office in El Paso
  • Build a brand-new "Believe" page on our website, featuring supporters sharing their own stories about why they're on #TeamBeto.

Want to submit a video yourself? Just reply to this email and share a selfie video about why you believe in this campaign and the movement we're building across the country.

🚨BREAKING NEWS 🚨 Amy just joined Instagram! Find her at @amysorourke, follow her, and check out her trip with Beto to New York and Michigan, where Amy and Beto visited Ellis Island, went on The View and cooked dinner with the Collins family in Flint who are still living the impacts of the water crisis.

Don't forget to catch the stories while you can!

This week, we also opened our El Paso Field Office, where supporters and volunteers from Beto's hometown can take action in the community and bring more people into the campaign. The office will be supported by volunteers like Diana, pictured here, who helped decorate the new office and made calls to invite other supporters to the office opening event. 🎊This is the first campaign she's ever volunteered with 🎊and she's involved because she deeply believes in Beto and his vision for the country. I couldn't have said it Beto myself, Diana!

And shoutout to our #TeamBeto all-stars who started their very own fundraising challenge online. Want to get in on it? Click here, retweet and tag four friends to join in.

REVOLUTION ROCK

In each issue, we'll feature a member of our team so you can get to know the people working to build this grassroots movement alongside all of you. We'll ask them five questions about what they do at BFA, who they are and where they can find the best tacos in El Paso (just kidding, that last one is Tacos Don Cuco).

This week, we're spotlighting Chrystian Woods, Beto for America's National Director of Outreach.

Q: What's your favorite part about the work you do at Beto for America

A: My favorite part of working for Beto for America is having the opportunity to build the Outreach team. Before coming to El Paso, I saw a graphic from a Beto supporter that read, "Go everywhere. Talk to everyone. Leave no one behind." Those words resonated with me and I am excited to build a team that looks like America and reflects that mantra.

Q: Tell us about the first time you met Beto

A: I first met Beto at Ponce City Market when he came to Atlanta for the IWillVote Gala. He was extremely nice and personable, but the first thing I remember thinking was, "Wow, he is really tall" while staring up at him. April Ryan and I have that in common.

Q: What's something surprising about living in El Paso?

A: The dry heat is not so bad. I can get used to it.

Q: Before BFA you were working in Georgia to elect Stacey Abrams as governor. How did that experience inform your work at BFA?

A: The first similarity that comes to mind after working in Georgia for the past 3+ years is that - like Texas - we had to convince people that we were a battleground state and that we were worth investing in. But because of what we did, the country and world has seen the potential in Georgia and its 16 electoral votes - and because of Beto, we've seen the potential in Texas and its 38 electoral votes. The second is that we literally counted no one out and intentionally engaged left out and marginalized communities. The third is that I met and worked with Jen O'Malley Dillon and thought, this lady is a badass and I want to soak up as much knowledge as I can. I'm happy to be working in a place and with a team that allows me to do all three.

Q: Which food scene is better? Atlanta or El Paso?

A: I've had some tasty food in El Paso, but Atlanta reigns supreme. You get a great mix of southern, cultural, and highbrow cuisines because of the diversity and growth of the city. If you ever need ATL food recommendations just let me know.
