In just a few hours, I'll take the stage at the second debate of the presidential campaign

Sisters and Brothers -

I am writing you today to ask you to contribute to our campaign before tonight's debate.

As you know, we are taking on virtually every special interest group in the country, and we have some strong opponents who are raising a lot of money at fancy fundraisers.

They collect $2,800 checks. We receive donations at an average of $19. I am very proud of how we're funding this campaign – but it also means that we must keep pace, especially with a monthly fundraising deadline coming up tomorrow.

That is why I need to ask:

Can I count on you to make a $2.70 contribution to our campaign before tonight's debate? We have a July fundraising deadline that is coming to a close, and your support would mean a lot.

One of the reasons our campaign has always attracted so much grassroots support is because we are willing to talk about the issues that matter in the lives of all Americans, and not just a handful of special interests and wealthy campaign contributors.

There is an incredible amount of work ahead of us, but there is nothing we cannot accomplish as long as we're in this together. Thank you for adding your contribution before tonight's debate.
