Let me explain what we mean by "pacing behind"

Here's the truth

Friends -

When we talk about the fact that we are pacing a bit behind the fundraising goals we've set for July, this is what we mean:

Right now, we have about 38,000 fewer donations than we had at this point last month.

It's a big number, but by no means is it insurmountable. And our job, among others, between now and the debates is to close that gap.

Because it is these individual donations that help us keep pace with our opponents who rely on those high-dollar fundraisers. And it's why I have to ask:

Can Bernie count on you to make a $2.70 contribution to our campaign to help us catch up on our July fundraising goals?

The truth is that the response to these emails accounts for the overwhelming majority of contributions to our campaign. So thank you for reading, and thank you for chipping in to help us close the gap.
