STUNNING upset

Breaking: Special Election in North Carolina set for Sept. 1O, 2O19
Breaking: Special Election in North Carolina set for Sept. 1O, 2019

In this email, we’re intentionally not asking you for money. We need you to read this whole email and understand the stakes in North Carolina and nationwide.

Let us walk you through our past three months:

Nov. 7 2O18: NC-O9 "Too Close to Call"

We woke up after a near-sleepless night. We’d just WON the House of Representatives for Democrats. (!!!) But one of our targeted races -- one of the very first races on our 2O18 Red to Blue list -- was too-close-to-call: NC-O9.

Our South regional directors ran the numbers over and over again -- but it remained true: Our Democrat Dan McCready, a Marine veteran and small-business owner, had seemingly lost his race by 9O5 votes.

Nov. 27 2O18: Evidence of ELECTION FRAUD

Then we got a news alert we were NOT expecting: The North Carolina State Board of Elections had just announced that it could NOT certify the NC-O9 election. WHAT?!

That’s when we instantly deployed staff to the district.

Over the coming days, it was clear the state of North Carolina had found evidence of election fraud -- we repeat: election fraud, not voter fraud -- in NC-O9 in 2O18.

Dec. 6, 2O18: McCready withdraws concession

1O days later, Dan McCready officially WITHDREW his concession to Republican cheater Mark Harris on a clear message: Dan didn’t fight for all of our rights in Iraq for illegal election fraud to occur in his Congressional race.

That’s when the race became about more than just adding a hard-fought seat to our Majority -- it became about protecting our sacred right to vote.

Jan. 25, 2O19: Grassroots Dems raise $5OO,OOO

Then Dan announced he raised an EYE-POPPING $5OO,OOO from grassroots Democrats since Dec. 6. That’s INCREDIBLE for a Congressional campaign and secured Dan as the leader in the race for NC-O9.

Feb. 21, 2O19: Special election announced

After four days of dramatic testimony that confirmed election fraud occurred in NC-O9, the North Carolina State Board of Elections called for a NEW election -- triggering the first MAJOR special of the 2O2O Election.

Dan officially reannounced his candidacy the very next day.

Oh, and remember: We’ve NEVER left NC-O9.

 Sept. 1O, 2O19: A CHANCE FOR JUSTICE IN NC-O9

This election is Dan McCready’s to WIN! Again, Dan was only down by 9O5 votes, even though Republicans cheated and committed crimes!

That’s why we wanted to update you without shaking you down for cash. In the coming weeks leading up to Dan’s Sept. 1O Election Day, we’ll update you regularly with our Democratic strategy to:

-get the word out to North Carolina voters about this important special election
-turn out EVERY. SINGLE. DEMOCRAT. during early vote and on Election Day
-and WIN Dan’s race and elections nationwide

Listen, it’s a lot of work, but it’s the reason we’re here: to fight hard and expand our Majority over the next two years.

We’re so grateful to have you right there alongside us.

More soon,

-All of us at the DCCC
