He's an open white nationalist and a rising Gen-Z voice on the extreme right. He calls Adolf Hitler "really f*****g cool," claims that life was better for Black Americans under Jim Crow, and doesn't think that women should have the right to vote. [1] And now, he's gearing up to shape the Republican Party and influence the 2026 midterm elections. He's bragging about using his shady nonprofit called the America First Foundation to "infiltrate politics" and steer votes in the 2026 midterms. [2] This is exactly the kind of activity our Federal Elections Commission (FEC) should be watching like a hawk. They're the agency responsible for enforcing our campaign finance laws, which Common Cause led the fight to establish back in the 1970s. But with four of its six seats vacant right now, the FEC is effectively powerless. [3]   Without a quorum, they can't hold even the simplest vote – which means no investigations into who is influencing our elections, and no consequences when big money donors break the rules. That's right. As I write you, bad actors like Nick Fuentes, foreign autocrats, and tech billionaires are free to game our elections and pour unlimited money into extremist candidates – without any oversight. Sign the Petition: Demand Trump fully staff the FEC with well-qualified commissioners so it can enforce the law during the 2026 elections >> SIGN THE PETITION Only the president can appoint new members to the FEC – but Pamela, the good news is that the commission has built-in safeguards to prevent it from becoming overly politicized. That's why experts across the political spectrum agree: the FEC needs to be fully staffed, no matter which party is in office. [4] And we deserve an FEC staffed by true experts committed to upholding our laws – not partisan hacks. That's the only way to make sure all candidates are playing by the same rules. Until that happens, extremists like Nick Fuentes will be emboldened to exploit the system, abuse dark money loopholes, and drag our democracy toward corruption and chaos.
