Pamela, at the UN this past week, President Trump called climate change the "greatest con job ever perpetrated" and a "scam," claiming it was "made by stupid people" and attempting to bully and shame countries ready to enact policies that reduce pollution and support clean energy.
He even suggested that American environmentalists are demanding: "No more cows -- we don't want cows anymore because they want to kill all the cows."
Yes, he really said that.
This blustering spectacle reinforces what we already knew: Donald Trump will stop at nothing to distract us from the disastrous impacts of his own policies -- while he drives up costs and destroys good-paying jobs. All to ensure his buddies in the fossil fuel industry can keep their profits flowing.
By donating to Climate Power today, you will help us fight this ridiculous disinformation, amplify the actual science, and make sure decision-makers are held accountable when they fall in line with Trump and treat facts and science like a punchline.
Obviously, Trump's comments are udderly ridiculous (sorry, we couldn't help ourselves) -- but they're also seriously harmful. And sadly, the same dangerous rhetoric is echoed by his hand-picked administration of yes-men (and women), and politicians and lobbyists doing his and Big Oil CEOs' bidding to destroy policies that impact our food, energy, and planet.
They'd rather protect Big Oil and special interests than protect people. Spreading lies about cows and climate conspiracy theories is easier (and more profitable) than admitting their policies are driving up our utility bills and stealing good-paying jobs.
Will you chip in today to help us continue our work of setting the record straight and pushing back against this absurd and dangerous blustering that puts our future at risk?
