Pamela,
Trump wants to replace Sesame Street with lies and propaganda about how slavery wasn't that bad…
Yes, this is real life.
Trump's White House is already partnering with PragerU, a conservative media organization, to produce misleading and factually incorrect AI generated videos "telling American history."
That means making *checks notes* cartoon videos of Christopher Columbus saying that "being taken as a slave is better than being killed" and that slavery was "no big deal" because it was normal during that time period…. HUH?!

Credit: Courier Newsroom If you're as angry as we are about the whitewashing of American history, join us in this fight to protect the truth and preserve Black history. Add your name now to our petition. ✊🏾 Even as a standalone act, Trump shuttering the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is deeply concerning. PBS, NPR, and thousands of local TV and radio stations (particularly those in rural and underserved areas) across the country are at risk.
But of course, it's worse than that: this is the next attack in Trump's campaign to erase and control what history, education, and FACTS the public has access to.
He's attacked the Smithsonian. He's threatened to take media outlets like ABC and NBC's licenses away for their "unfair coverage." He's tried to remove Harriet Tubman from the National Park Service's Underground Railroad page, and now, Trump wants to control our public media.
We say, no way. Join us in the fight to stop the whitewashing of our country's history. Add your name to our petition to protect the truth and preserve Black history.
At Black Lives Matter, preserving and sharing Black history is essential to our mission (it's a key part of our research and education pillar). We know that far too often our ancestral history is erased, pushed aside, and not treated with the value it should be.
Black history matters. And we're going to continue to fight to make sure that it does.
In solidarity,
Black Lives Matter
