We don't know why they did it, and we don't know where that data is now. And under privatizer-in-chief Social Security Commissioner Frank Bisignano, the Social Security Administration has weaponized agency data, injected chaos into the phone system, and misled the public on agency performance. But Sen. Mike Crapo (R-ID), who chairs the Senate committee with jurisdiction over Social Security, has been suspiciously quiet. No investigations, no hearings. Just a letter without any follow-up. It sure looks like a coverup. Democrats on the committee, led by Ranking Member Ron Wyden, are demanding an investigation. Sen. TAKE ACTION The whistleblower was forced to resign after the New York Times published his warning. It appears that Trump's handpicked Social Security Commissioner is engaging in a coverup. He's not interested in protecting people who are counting on Social Security―he's just another MAGA yes man. We need massive outcry from the general public calling on Sen. Crapo to do his job and conduct an investigation into the Social Security leak, and the condition of our Social Security Administration. Though SSA's spending is appropriated, the funding comes out of the Social Security trust fund that we pay into with every paycheck. The Social Security Administration has always been remarkably efficient, spending less than 1% on program administration. Conversely, private pension companies often absorb as much as 15% on administrative costs. But Bisignano doesn't seem to want Social Security to work.
