Trump's funding cuts threaten public safety

Pamela,   The U.S. Department of Justice has ended funding for Vera's vital public safety programs. Effective immediately. Slashing this funding means: Survivors of trafficking and violence who are living with disabilities will lose vital support. Efforts to reduce violence in prisons and improve conditions for incarcerated people and corrections staff are being cut. Communities working to build alternatives to policing and incarceration are left without the resources they need. These cuts are not accidental—they are part of a deliberate, cruel strategy to dismantle progress, target marginalized people, and double down on a system that prioritizes punishment. Vera remains committed to building safe, healthy, empowered communities. But to do that, we need people like you—people who understand that justice is not optional, and that every person and every community deserves safety. Are you with us?
