Dear Pamela,
When things feel darkest, remember to look to the sun.
Right now, solar power is growing faster than any other source of energy in history. Millions of people are getting access to electricity for the first time thanks to the sun, and planned fossil fuel plants are being cancelled thanks to the dropping price of solar.
The growth of renewable energy gives us a real shot to stop climate change. But the wealthy and well connected are standing in the way, by passing laws making it harder to put solar panels on your roof, shutting down powerful clean energy projects, and slowing down permitting.
We need a movement. That's why we're joining the call for Sun Day, a grassroots day of action on September 21st to celebrate the power of clean energy and stand up to the wealthy and well-connected who want to shut it down.
If you believe we need more clean power, right now, sign up here to be a part of this historic day of action on September 21st this year: http://sunday.earth
What's happening on Sun Day? Events of all kinds to celebrate and fight for clean energy, from:
Tours of solar power installations from local roofs to major solar farms
Rallies for faster clean energy permitting
Ebike rides, heat pump how-tos, and other hands-on clean energy fun!
The more clean energy we build, the less we must rely on fossil fuels to power the world. Solar energy is more affordable, and wind, grid-scale batteries, and other technologies are bigger than ever.
The only thing that can stop them is if the wealthy and well-connected keep standing in their way. We need your help to change that. Join Sun Day on September 21st, and be a part of this movement for renewable energy for all.
See you under the sun,
Jamie, Fossil Free Media
