Pamela,
Imagine showing up to vote like you always do—only to find that you have to submit a copy of your birth certificate to be able to cast your ballot. That's the future we're facing if Florida lawmakers pass HB 1381, a bill that would force every Floridian to have passport-level proof of citizenship just to register to vote OR update their voter address.
This bill just skipped a committee and is moving quickly through the Florida House. We need your voice TODAY.
TAKE ACTION: Call your Representative and demand a NO vote on HB 1381
Here's what's wrong with HB 1381:
It would block thousands of eligible Floridians from voting if they can't provide specific documents like a passport or birth certificate. This will hit seniors and students hardest.
It removes Student ID, Retirement Center ID, and Public Assistance ID from the list of IDs that can be used for voting in person.
It limits who can have a say in our elections, favoring the wealthy over everyday working Floridians.
We've seen these tactics before. When Kansas passed a similar law, 1 in 8 voter registrations were blocked before courts stepped in. We can't let that happen in Florida.
Pamela, you have the power to stop this.
Pick up the phone and tell your Representative: VOTE NO on HB 1381. Say it loud and clear—Floridians deserve free, fair, and accessible elections.
Thank you for your commitment to democracy,
