Pamela,
First of all, thank you for everything you do to fight for fair representation in our democracy. And thank you for following along with our updates on a critical redistricting case in front of the Supreme Court right now: Louisiana v. Callais.
In case you need a reminder of what's at stake: anti-democracy extremists are attempting to undo Louisiana's new, fair congressional map. If the map is overturned, it would once again diminish the rightful voting power of Black Louisianans. And the outcome of this case could undermine the Voting Rights Act (VRA), which would have broad implications for maps across the country.
I attended the oral argument at the Supreme Court, and I know that the fair maps movement has made a rock-solid case for upholding Louisiana's two Black opportunity districts.
As Justice Elena Kagan noted during the argument, three different courts — comprised of seven federal judges — have all agreed that Louisiana should have two Black opportunity districts in accordance with the VRA. Pamela, it's clear: Louisiana's VRA-compliant map — which Louisianans have fought so hard for — must stand. The Supreme Court must follow its own recent precedent on this issue, as it upheld the VRA less than two years ago. And extremists cannot be allowed to gerrymander at the expense of the people.
Over the next few months, while we wait for the Supreme Court's ruling, the All On the Line campaign will continue mobilizing grassroots supporters to protect fair maps, voting rights, and fair representation across the country.
We must do everything we can to defend our democracy as extremists try to undo our progress through court cases like these.
People like you are at the heart of our movement for a truly representative democracy. We'll keep you posted on the outcome of this case and what comes next.
Thank you,
Marina

For 42 days, there were glimmers of hope and safety. It's all changed.
Pamela, for 42 days, the people of Gaza had a reprieve from the Israeli military's relentless bombs. Families were reunited as dozens of Israeli hostages came home. Hundreds of thousands of people began to rebuild their lives.
In an instant, everything changed. Trump's promise that "all hell will break out" has become a reality as PM Netanyahu moves to expand a ground invasion that has already killed over 50,523 people.
It's heartbreaking to have been so close to an end to the relentless violence and see the Israeli government tear up the ceasefire. But we refuse to let despair and complacency allow this violence to become our new normal.
With hawks in the White House and Congress circling, our team is going into overtime, doubling down on every single tactic we have to halt the bombs once again. It looks like round-the-clock advocacy to push more lawmakers to speak out against the shipment of offensive weapons to the Israeli government. It's partnering with civil society in the region who are pushing for new solutions that can help Israelis and Palestinians thrive without the fear of violence. It's mobilizing tens of thousands of activists to call for pushback against Huckabee's nomination to become Ambassador to Israel.
And it all takes incredible resources.

Make no mistake, it wasn't bombs and bullets that paused the violence from January 19 to March. The recent ceasefire saved lives. Hostages returned to their families. Hundreds of trucks were able to bring crucially needed aid into Gaza. Violence across the region slowed dramatically.
Without a ceasefire in place, people in Gaza and the dozens of hostages still held captive have run out of time.
For too many across the Middle East, "hell" is a reality they have been living for well over a year — and the U.S. government is directly culpable for their suffering. Right now, hundreds of thousands of people in Gaza are slowly starving as relentless Israeli military bombings, including with U.S.-made weapons, continue to destroy hospitals, homes filled with families, and schools sheltering displaced people.
More bombs and bullets will not build peace. This strategy has done little to bring the remaining hostages back to their families. But luckily, we've faced moments just like this one before, and we refuse to let this work fail.
Lives remain on the line. That means our small team has just the narrowest window to drown out the hawks and the war lobby by raising the alarm about how devastating a war would be in the media, rallying our anti-war champions in Congress to push back on a destructive status quo that prioritizes war and profit over peace and people, and mobilizing tens of thousands of grassroots activists like you who refuse to accept more violence as the only way forward. Pamela, we need you with us.
It's not just the bombs that we're worried about — we're afraid despair and complacency allow the violence to become our new normal.
That's why our community gives us so much hope. You are the people who refuse to look away. You are the ones who will help build the world we all want and deserve: One where we all live and thrive without the threat of violence.
People in Israel, Palestine, and around the world deserve a lasting, sustainable, peace. Together, we'll continue working to make that future possible.
Thank you for working for peace,
The Win Without War team
