This morning, Tropical Storm Idalia made landfall in Florida as a dangerous Category 3 hurricane. Communities in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina are now facing heavy rains, ferocious winds, and a torrential storm surge.
At this critical moment, we are coordinating with local partners and first responders to understand potential needs of the community in the path of the storm. Our teams are ready to support our long-standing education, child care and community partners in the wake of this disaster. But with a crisis of this magnitude, additional support is urgently needed to power our long-term recovery efforts.
Thanks to generous supporters like you, Save the Children has a long history of supporting children, families and local partners when emergencies strike. We know that after a disaster like this, the long-lasting effects on children’s education and mental health can be particularly damaging. That’s why our teams will work tirelessly to help kids get back on track as soon as possible.
By supporting the Children’s Emergency Fund, you provide fast and efficient aid to communities facing crises in the United States and around the world. In moments like this, when children’s futures are particularly at risk, the support of compassionate individuals like you means so much. Thank you for all you do.
