It’s Katie Porter. I’ll cut right to the chase: House Democrats are approaching our FIRST End of Quarter Deadline of 2022, and we’re still $375,000 short of our goal. I first ran for Congress for a very simple reason: To get things done for my community and for working people all across the country. That’s why I was thrilled to see Democrats win the House, Senate, and White House in 2020 -- because I knew we could finally get to work on so many of the pressing issues facing our country. But there’s still so much to be done, and so much at stake this November. As a mom of three kids, I worry every day about what type of country we are leaving behind for them if Republicans take power again.  Instead of creating a fairer economy that lifts everybody up, Republicans have prioritized tax cuts for the rich and powerful. Instead of addressing the climate crisis, they’ve pushed pseudo-science and misinformation to cater to their special interest backers.  And instead of defending our democracy in the wake of an armed insurrection, they’ve defended the perpetrators and ruthlessly attacked our institutions. Here’s the bottom line: When they could have joined Democrats in building a better, stronger, fairer America, they’ve chosen division and obstruction at every turn. I know that’s what we can expect from a Republican House Majority if they take back power this year. I’m doing everything I can to stop that from happening -- but I need grassroots supporters like you on my team.
