I've served as president of the Association of State Democratic Committees for three terms -- and in that time I've witnessed firsthand the impact strong state parties have on elections.
That is just part of the reason why I've been working alongside Chair Jaime Harrison to implement a true 57-State Party strategy. And, earlier this month, I was proud to announce we reached an agreement to invest a historic $23 million in state parties ahead of the 2022 election cycle. This investment is huge (more on that below!). But it doesn't mean we can sit back and relax now.
Grassroots Democrats like you made this possible, and we're relying on you to help hit fundraising goals like the one the DNC is facing this month to keep up this level of investment in the states. If we fall short, we run the risk of not being able to fully fund nationwide organizing and voter protection staff, upkeep our data and technology infrastructure, and more.
So, will you help ensure we have the resources to sustain our progress and continue electing Democrats by making a $7 donation to the DNC before their end-of-month deadline?
Something that may surprise you, which I've witnessed both as chair of the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party and as a DNC vice chair, is how difficult this part of the election cycle can be for state parties.
They're often recovering from hard-fought campaigns, bringing on new chairs or executive directors, and still working around the clock to elect Democrats. That's why this agreement -- and your continued support of our party ahead of this critical deadline -- is so vital. It will help:
- Catalyze new and innovative organizing work by investing in programs that will empower state parties to implement state-tailored strategies and get organizing boots on the ground early.
- Take the fight against Republicans directly to them through the Red State Fund. This brand new $2 million fund will support investments in Republican-led states and ensure that no community is left behind.
- Double down on our efforts to train the next generation of diverse party leaders, so that state parties are at their strongest for the 2022 midterms and in elections to come.
- Keep providing the best data and tech to Democrats, no matter what office they're running for, through a historic data agreement.
All of that and more is going to be essential to building strong state parties and campaigns in the months ahead -- so we can keep our Democratic majorities in Congress and make gains in state houses across the country.
Please give $7 to the DNC ahead of their end-of-month deadline to help empower the grassroots and state parties nationwide.
None of this would be possible without you.
Thank you,
Ken

P.S. The DNC's $23 million agreement will empower state parties across the entire country to organize early and in the smartest ways possible. We can protect our majorities, gain seats in state houses nationwide, build our strongest state party infrastructure in history, and so much more. Just a $7 donation to the DNC ahead of their May deadline will go a long way to making this a reality.
