Pamela, Kamala Harris will be the first woman, and the first Black and Indian American ever to hold the office of Vice President. This is a historic and long overdue moment that was made possible by the hard work that women, especially women of color, have been doing for decades to make our voices heard. But it's not enough, Pamela. We're demanding that President-Elect Biden nominate progressive women who share our values of justice and equality to at least half of the Cabinet positions. Will you add your name to the Women's March national petition calling on Biden to nominate diverse, progressive women leaders to at least half of his Cabinet positions? Biden must lead an administration that will fight for policies that improve the lives of all women and working families. We believe it is essential then that he nominate progressive women – like Rep. Deb Haaland – who share our values of justice and equality. Women get the job done and we'll fight for the issues that matter to us and our families – especially when it comes to COVID-19. One recent study found that countries with female leaders have 1/6 the number of COVID-19 deaths as those led by men. There's so much more we can achieve if we make sure the next administration is committed to not just one woman in the White House, but putting progressive women leaders at the center of every department. Please sign our petition today so we can make sure our next administration is women-led and committed to our feminist values. Let's get to work, Women's March Team |
