Friend, At the Democratic National Convention, our friend and colleague Ady Barkan courageously spoke to his personal struggles with our broken health care system, and issued an important call to action for us all: Each of us must be a hero for our communities, for our country. And then, with a compassionate, and intelligent president, we must act together and put on his desk a bill that guarantees us all the health care we deserve. Last week, Democrats showed that we are going to make health care a governing priority. And we are going to organize to show that Medicare for All is the best solution. It is incumbent on all of us to speak truth to power and build the grassroots energy we need right now to make health care a human right in this country under a new president. Will you add your name to ours as a way of saying you're all-in on the fight to pass Medicare for All? If we work together on this, we will be impossible to ignore. The pandemic has made vivid the failures of our current health care system. Millions of Americans have lost their jobs and the health insurance that was tied to their employment. Even those who are lucky enough to still have insurance if hospitalized with a serious case of COVID-19 are leaving the hospitals with bills in the tens or hundreds of thousands. It's why more people than ever before are expressing support for universal health care. As Ady said in his testimony during a historic House hearing on Medicare for All last year, our time on this earth is the most precious resource we have. A Medicare for All system will save all of us tremendous time. For doctors and nurses and providers, it will mean more time giving high-quality care. And for patients and our families, it will mean less time dealing with a broken health care system and more time doing the things we love, together. This fight is bigger than one election and we can't stop fighting for a single second. Add your name to our pledge to keep fighting for Medicare for All — right now, and after the election in November. Thank you for committing to keep up the fight with us, The team at Be A Hero |
