| According to new polling from Data for Progress and Be a Hero, voters in four key battleground states decisively favor aggressive actions to lower prescription drug prices.[1] During this crisis, voters are even more worried about the cost of prescription drugs. They want Medicare to directly negotiate the price of medicines, and support allowing the government to manufacture generic versions of expensive drugs. That's not all. Voters in these states also support revoking companies' patent monopolies for high-cost drugs. Finally, voters want Medicare to cover the cost of prescription drugs for everyone. ADD YOUR NAME: It's time to stop Pharma from gouging sick Americans. Tell Congress: Enough! In North Carolina, Maine, Arizona & Iowa, at least 55 percent of all voters say they're more likely to support a candidate who wants Medicare to pay for everyone's prescription drugs. At least 65 percent of those polled in all four states say they're more likely to vote for candidates who call for the government to manufacture generic versions of high-cost medications. At least 63 percent of voters in each of these states think Medicare should be able to negotiate drug prices. At least 69 percent in every state polled say they're more likely to support candidates who call for ending monopoly patents on high-cost medications, so that other companies can produce generic versions. These voters, who will determine the Senate majority in 2021, are demanding aggressive action to lower prescription drug prices. Congress should listen to them, and act accordingly.
