Brendan Carr, Chair of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), has been at the forefront of Trump's censorship push targeting media personalities and entire networks for "liberal bias."
Carr helped get Jimmy Kimmel kicked off the air for jokes Trump didn't like, amplified Trump's call for NBC to fire Seth Meyers, and launched politically-motivated attacks against NPR, PBS, ABC, and CBS. Carr's message is clear to all broadcasters, media companies, journalists, and comedians: fall in line with the White House, or face relentless attacks from an authoritarian administration.
Carr is abusing his role at the FCC and is a direct threat to free speech in America. The U.S. House has a responsibility to launch an impeachment inquiry to hold Carr accountable.

FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez is raising the alarm bells on Carr and Trump. "This administration is using the weight of government to suppress lawful expression because it challenges those in power and reflects views that they oppose," she said.
Carr is using his intimidation tactics to force media and telecommunications companies to comply with Trump directives. Carr has refused to approve mergers and large transactions for companies who have DEI programs. Just last week, he celebrated AT&T dropping its DEI work.
Carr is a key part of Trump's attempt to take complete control over every corner of America, stamp out dissent, and crush the First Amendment. It's time for the U.S. House to protect free speech and the media from Trump's takeover.
