You might know me as Burton “Gus” Guster in “Psych” or Charlie Young on “The West Wing,” but one of my proudest roles is that of a military supporter — not just by supporting my brother during his time in the Army, but recently when I embarked on my second USO tour this past December, bringing holiday cheer to over 4,000 service members across six military sites around Europe.
I saw firsthand that one of the toughest parts of anyone’s military service is leaving family behind, missing out on precious face time. That’s why I’m reaching out to you today.
Spending time far away from their loved ones is just one of many, many sacrifices our service members make throughout the year in service of our country, asking nothing of us in return. We may not be able to bring them home or fully understand the challenges they go through — but we can make sure they have access to USO programs and services, such as those that allow them to talk to loved ones back home.
