Breaking: Supreme Court caves to Trump

The Supreme Court just ruled that Donald Trump will remain on the ballot, allowing an insurrectionist to again run for office, despite the clear language of the Constitution.

The Supreme Court just ruled that Donald Trump will remain on the ballot, allowing an insurrectionist to again run for office, despite the clear language of the Constitution.¹

The writing is on the wall now more than ever: This partisan Supreme Court will do whatever it can to help Trump and his anti-democratic agenda.

That means it's up to us, the voters, to stop Trump. Robert Mueller didn't do it. Jack Smith won't be able to do it. And the Supreme Court is twisting the Constitution to help Trump.

We must come together to defeat Trump. Trump must lose. The alternative is unthinkable.

Trump's anti-democratic agenda includes all this:

• Taking revenge on Trump's political opponents via the Justice Department. As The New York Times reports, Trump "vowed to use the Justice Department to prosecute his adversaries—starting with President Biden and his family." Undoubtedly, this also includes MoveOn and similar left-leaning groups, who have been a thorn in Trump's side for years.³
  
  
• An extreme immigration crackdown. The Times reports that Trump is planning "an assault on immigration at a scale unseen in modern American history. Millions of undocumented immigrants would be barred from the country or uprooted from it years or even decades after settling here." That includes sweeping raids, millions of deportations per year, sprawling detention camps, and the shutdown of asylum requests. He would even try to end the constitutional right to birthright citizenship.⁴
  
  
• The use of U.S. troops to silence dissent. Trump's team plans to crack down on peaceful protesters using federal troops, and Trump even said he would unilaterally send troops into Democratic-run cities like New York.⁵ Also, as the Times notes, "While it is generally illegal to use the military for domestic law enforcement purposes, a law called the Insurrection Act creates an exception. His top immigration adviser has said that in a second term, they would invoke the Insurrection Act at the southern border to use soldiers as immigration agents."⁶
  
  
• "Obliterating" the civil service. A plan in the works would give Trump "the power to strip employment protections from tens of thousands of government civil servants, potentially fire them and bring in loyalists willing to implement far-right policies."⁷

As former Republican Representative Liz Cheney of Wyoming said, if Trump wins in November, it might be "the last election that you ever get to vote in."⁸
