| Tell Congress: I urge you to pass the Women's Health Protection Act to protect abortion rights and care nationwide. | Since the extreme right-wing Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, fourteen states have enacted total abortion bans and seven more have put in place severe restrictions on abortion. Just a few weeks ago, Idaho became the latest state to have a full ban go into effect after SCOTUS upheld the state's post-Roe extreme ban. A case coming to Trump's judges at the Supreme Court could even threaten nationwide access to abortion medication. Access to safe and legal abortion care is a right, and we need Congress to pass the Women's Health Protection Act (WHPA) to enact federal legislation to protect abortion rights. Sign the petition: Pass the Women's Health Protection Act NOW to protect abortion care in America. The WHPA would require that abortion care is always available to protect a woman's health, and stop extreme abortion bans early in pregnancy. That means nationwide protections for abortion care. The bill would stop states from forcing doctors to provide medically inaccurate information, perform unnecessary ultrasounds, or require waiting periods. And the legislation would protect the right of women to travel out of state to seek abortion care. By passing WHPA, our legislators would lift barriers to care that disproportionately impact Black, Brown, and Indigenous people, the LGBTQ+ community, disabled people, low-income people, and people living in rural areas. Abortion care must be free, accessible, and available everywhere, in every state, for everyone. Congress must use every possible tool at their disposal to guarantee reproductive freedom for all. Sign the petition: Congress must pass the Women's Health Protection Act. |
