This secret weapon defeats No Labels

While No Labels claims to be forming a "unity ticket," the truth is that Haley is an anti-abortion extremist who, if elected, would advance abortion bans opposed by the majority of voters.

Dear MoveOn member,

No Labels—the dark-money, billionaire-backed group with ties to Harlan Crow, who funded Clarence Thomas's luxury lifestyle and is a major MAGA donor, and Rupert Murdoch, the founder of Fox News—is now courting Nikki Haley for its third-party ticket.1,2,3 Yes, the same Nikki Haley who's currently running in the GOP primary.

While No Labels claims to be forming a "unity ticket," the truth is that Haley is an anti-abortion extremist who, if elected, would advance abortion bans opposed by the majority of voters.4 This latest move shows just how dangerous—and desperate—No Labels has become.

MoveOn has been working for more than a year to expose this group's dangerous, deceptive, and anti-democratic third-party presidential campaign, which threatens to reinstall Donald Trump in the White House.

And we have no plans to stop holding them accountable, including after No Labels took the outrageous step of calling on the Justice Department to investigate MoveOn for criminal harassment, extortion, and "unlawful conspiracy" under RICO—the law often used to prosecute organized crime!

But MoveOn won't be silenced. Instead, we are doubling down.

Thanks to MoveOn members' support, we were able to poll-test several messages to help voters understand the truth about No Labels.

And we found a message that is highly effective in defeating a potential No Labels ticket, persuading 27% more Democratic voters who hear it to oppose No Labels over the control group. In presidential elections, where a margin of just a fraction of 1% in key swing states can decide the outcome, a 27% swing is HUGE!

We can't give you specifics of our message, because we know No Labels is reading our emails, and we don't want to tell them what we're doing in advance. But we need your help to get this message out there—and to make a big splash in the media and with voters—the moment No Labels announces its presidential ticket.

If we wait too long to execute our plan, we'll miss our most critical moment to respond. That's why we're asking for your help today:

Will you start a $5 monthly donation to help MoveOn execute our plan to fight back against No Labels from the moment the dark-money organization announces its 2024 presidential ticket until Election Day?

Yes, I'll chip in monthly.

No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.

We know that with MoveOn member support, we can make a big difference. Our efforts to expose No Labels as a third-party spoiler campaign are working.

Recently, West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin announced that he "will not be a deal breaker or a spoiler" in the 2024 election by running as a candidate under the banner of No Labels.5 And now, The New Republic reports that "No Labels' effort to mount a third-party bid is suddenly in serious trouble."6

Nikki Haley has also announced multiple times that she is not interested in No Labels, but, as we have seen, they continue trying to recruit her. The fact remains that No Labels continues trying to recruit top-tier candidates and that any candidate No Labels announces will be a serious threat to our democracy. Despite the group's facing "dwindling options" for its ticket, today's news shows that the group is still trying to recruit a candidate for its third-party spoiler effort.7 We cannot rest, and their effort must be taken very seriously, or else Trump will be back in the White House.8

That's why we still need your help to fund a big campaign to expose No Labels with voters and in the media and have it ready to go the moment No Labels announces its presidential ticket.

Will you start a $5 monthly donation to help sustain MoveOn's long-term fight against the No Labels ticket with our highly effective, poll-tested messaging?

Yes, I'll chip in monthly.

No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.

MoveOn can't rely on billionaire funders as No Labels does. But when millions of MoveOn members chip in $5, $10, or $27 at a time, we can go head-to-head with billionaire-backed efforts—and we can win.

This is a critical moment. Because while we're working to expose No Labels, we're of course keeping our eye on the prize and are laser focused on defeating Trump and thwarting his plans to end abortion rights in all 50 states through a national abortion ban, irreparably harm our democracy, and "drill, baby, drill" our way to runaway climate change.9,10,11

Will you start a $5 monthly donation? MoveOn must be prepared to fight No Labels while we engage and mobilize millions of Americans to defeat Donald Trump this November.

Yes, I'll chip in monthly.

No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.

Let's be clear: There is no path to victory for a No Labels candidate. But if we do not expose No Labels' efforts and respond swiftly at every turn with highly effective messaging like the poll-tested one we developed, their machinations could still very well throw the election to Trump.

That's why MoveOn is doing everything we can to stop No Labels. It's why we can't let up now. And it's why we're preparing for the next stage of this fight.

Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn's work? The MAGA movement's book bans have forced teachers and librarians across the country to remove books from their shelves and censor what young people can learn. MoveOn is fighting back, including by filling a "Banned Bookmobile" with books that the far right has banned and driving it to key cities and towns to raise the visibility of book bans, hand out banned books for free, and bring people together to stop censorship. To keep up the fight against book bans and the MAGA politicians who support them, we need your help.

Will you start a monthly gift to power and sustain MoveOn's critical work?

Yes, I'll chip in $5 a month.

No, I'm sorry, I can't make a monthly donation.
