Action alert: Help stop Amazon's unsafe conditions & union-busting

Demand accountability from Amazon's board for labor rights violations.

Dear MoveOn member,

Amazon is the second-largest employer in the United States, with 1.6 million workers, and has repeatedly been under fire for unsafe work conditions,1 union-busting tactics, and National Labor Relations Board violations.2 In spite of these well-documented infractions, this retail giant continues to operate with little to no oversight, regulation, or accountability.

There's finally an opportunity to deliver accountability by encouraging Amazon shareholders to vote against the reelection of board of directors members Daniel Huttenlocher and Judith McGrath—who have failed to protect worker safety—at the upcoming shareholder meeting on May 25.

If you are invested in a mutual fund that holds shares of Amazon stock, you can instruct the mutual fund or its investment manager how to vote your shares. Send a letter urging your mutual fund or investment manager to vote against the reelection of Directors Huttenlocher and McGrath.

Amazon's board of directors has been largely unresponsive to shareholder concerns about health, safety, and labor rights violations, and these longstanding members have failed to perform their duty to exercise adequate oversight of the company's human capital management practices.

In just a few clicks, you can send a letter to your mutual fund or investment manager. Select yours below or contact your investment manager directly if you don't see your company's name.

City and state comptrollers, who manage 1.7 million combined shares, are already making their voices heard, as are groups of retirees, and adding your voice will help to continue to build momentum! If you are invested in a mutual fund that holds Amazon shares, you have a role to play in demanding accountability from the board over the company's repeated high turnover, high injury rates, and violations of labor rights.

Urge your mutual fund or investment manager to vote AGAINST directors Huttenlocher and McGrath. Send a letter now.

Thanks for all you do.

Want to support our work? Right-wing groups are spending tens of millions of dollars on TV ads to smear critical progressive legislation. Meanwhile, donations to progressive groups like MoveOn are plummeting now that a Democrat is in the White House, meaning we don't have the resources to fight back. That's a huge problem, and that's why we urgently need your support.

Will you chip in to fight right-wing lies and pass urgent legislation to confront the multiple crises our country faces?
