Wall Street and giant corporations have been trying to squeeze every cent they can out of tenants in cities across the country. Recent lawsuits allege that a price-fixing algorithm is helping big, corporate landlords price rental units as high as they possibly can. Wall Street is buying up street blocks of homes across America. Corporations are exploiting renters, homeowners, and potential home buyers. When giant corporations and Wall Street hedge funds buy up a block of homes or a whole neighborhood of housing, they are saying one thing clearly: We are here to make as much profit off of regular renters as possible. And their price-fixing algorithms help along the way. Renters and home buyers can't compete with billions and billions of corporate dollars and exploitative algorithms.
