I want to be radically transparent about our online, small-dollar fundraising and the role it will play in our success going forward.
As the campaign goes on, the donations you make in response to emails and texts like this make a larger and larger percentage of the money we raise.
Look:
- Between April and June 2023, online small-dollar money accounted for 26% of our fundraising.
- Between July and September 2023, it was 30%.
- Between October and December 2023, it was 37%.
- Between January and March 2024, it was 48%.
This quarter, it will be a majority of our donations. A majority! Next quarter, it needs to account for 75% of the money we raise.
To put it bluntly: our ability to afford the things we need to do in order to win, like keeping our TV ads running on the air and funding a robust field operation, will come down to people who care enough to read and respond to these emails (and texts!).
