Indivisibles,

Last week, Senators Ed Markey and Mazie Hirono proposed a bill that would federally protect the right to obtain contraceptives -- specifically "any drug, device, or biological product intended for use in the prevention of pregnancy."

Senate Republicans blocked it.

Republicans continue to lie to the American people -- claiming they support personal freedoms while doing everything they can to pave the way for restrictions and bans against reproductive rights.

And we know why this is: Even Republicans understand that repealing Roe was wildly unpopular and that, by a large margin, Americans support things like birth control, in vitro fertilization (IVF), and abortion access. MAGA Republicans fear the political repercussions of their own policies, so they lie to voters instead of changing their positions.

Democrats are continuing the fight to protect reproductive freedoms, but we know that Republicans have just enough power in Congress to continue to block it. They will vote down bills from the minority or overload them with enough amendments to kill the legislation before it reaches the floor. And even then, they'll try to avoid accountability.

But we're not going to let them get away with it.

Next weekend, June 21-24, Indivisibles across the country will be organizing rallies, honk-a-thons, bird-dogging, and every type of event you can think of to let Americans know that we won't forget: Republicans repealed Roe.

And we won't let them do it again.

Now and through November, we will remind the 17% of voters who blame Biden for the end of Roe that it was a Republican president who stole the Supreme Court in order to overturn it, and it is Republican legislatures all across the country instituting more and more horrific measures criminalizing our right to choose.

We need your help to get that message out there.

With that, here are your weekly to-dos:

 Your 4 weekly to-dos

  1. RSVP for the Majority over MAGA Weekend of Action Kickoff Call this Thursday, June 13 at 8pm ET/5pm PT. **Breaking announcement: There will be a special message from VP Harris on the call.** The MAGA Supreme Court's reversal of Roe v. Wade changed the course of contemporary American politics by making it clear to all of us that MAGA Republicans weren't just here to make threats, they were going to follow through and rip away our rights. Help us remind people that there's a better option. For more information on the Weekend of Action itself, check out our Majority over MAGA Weekend of Action (June 21-24) Toolkit, and join the kickoff call to hear specifically about how we'll be highlighting the ongoing fight for reproductive rights this election year.
  2. If you have a senator, call and tell them they must pass Senator Duckworth's Right to IVF Act. We've already seen what happened in Alabama: The state supreme court handed down a ruling imperiling IVF access across the state. Alabama Republicans hastily passed a bill they hoped would make the issue go away, but at least one IVF clinic is still being forced to shut down. We need federal protections for IVF. Call your senator and tell them to support the Right to IVF Act today.
  3. Take a look at our new Majority Over MAGA: State to State resource. Neighbor2Neighbor (see below) may only be available in our target districts, but it's going to take everyone coming together to drive wins in November. This State to State page will be our home for all of the other resources and strategies that will power us to a true Democratic trifecta that will codify reproductive freedoms and enact democracy reforms. Check this page to learn about phonebanks, textbanks, postcards, reimbursements, and more that will be the backbone of our 2024 election program.
  4. Neighbor2Neighbor is open!!!! Check and see if it's available in your area, and help get out the vote. We have opened our highly effective, community conversation program -- Neighbor2Neighbor. If you want to have the biggest impact on voter turnout, this is the most effective way we've found to mobilize community members (our numbers prove it). Check and see if Neighbor2Neighbor is available in your area and, if it is, sign up today.

P.S. If you've already signed up to volunteer with Project 2024 and you're looking for more ways to support our candidate election work, consider making a donation today. Your contribution will ensure all of our volunteers have the tools and resources they need to get out the vote and defeat MAGA up and down the ballot.

Majority Over MAGA National Phonebank

Join a phone bank June 20 6pm ET/3pm PT

Register for the Project 2024: Majority Over MAGA Weekend of Action National Phonebank for Sherrod Brown on Thursday, July 20 at 6pm ET/3pm PT. This Ohio Senate seat is a must-win if we want to hold onto (and expand) our Senate majority in November, and Sherrod Brown is up against a Trump-backed, MAGA extremist. It is up to us to ensure that Sherrod has the support necessary to win this race, and every single vote is going to matter in a state as tightly contested as Ohio. Help us move one step closer to a true trifecta and elect Sherrod Brown. There will be a training to begin the event if you need a refresher on phonebanking.

Demand Your Members of Congress Say No To Netanyahu

**Content Warning: Talk about the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Jump to the line break if you need to avoid this topic.**

No to Netanyahu: Netanyahu shouldn't have been invited to address Congress. Members of Congress shouldn't attend.

While the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has passed the eight month mark, and issues like the conditions in Rafah, safety of the hostages, and potential for peace have remained uncertain, one thing has been clear: No one believes Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has handled this crisis well.

Whether it's a member of his own government resigning while saying "Netanyahu is preventing us from advancing toward true victory," Biden explaining that he has "every reason" to believe Netanyahu is extending the war for political reasons, or families of the remaining hostages calling on him to resign, no one believes Bibi has the well-being of either Israelis or Palestinians at heart, only his own need for power.

So why is Congress inviting him to speak?

Netanyahu accepted an invitation to speak to Congress on July 24, the first time he's been in front of a joint session since he went behind Obama's back to try to undermine the president's authority in 2015. He is invited now as only 30% of Americans (and 13% of Democrats) have confidence in Netanyahu to do the right thing.

If the American people don't have faith in Netanyahu -- if his own people don't have faith in him to lead -- Congress should not be attending his stump speech.

We have a mechanism to convince him to do what is right. That mechanism is halting the supply of offensive weapons to Israel to push them to work toward peace. As President Biden said, a deal is on the table, all that needs to happen is for Israel and Hamas to agree.

A visit to Congress does nothing to further that.

Call your representative and tell them to say "No to Netanyahu" and skip his address to Congress. Rather than indulging in the political machinations of a Trumpian power-monger, they must get back to what's actually important and impactful: Stopping the flow of offensive weapons into the hands of the Israeli military in order to broker a ceasefire, ensure the return of the hostages, and allow the free administration of humanitarian aid. No to Netanyahu, yes to peace.

Justice Alito and SCOTUS Corruption

After it was reported that Justice Samuel Alito had flown two separate versions of flags that are symbols of support for the January 6th insurrection outside of his home, Alito has stated his refusal to recuse himself from cases involving Trump's attempted overthrow of our government.

This would be a conflict of interest for any judge, but is especially horrific given our ongoing need for impartial checks and balances as Trump makes continued allusions to refusing to accept the results of an election.

The MAGA Supreme Court doesn't just have a corruption problem, it has an insurrection problem.

It is past time for Congress to take action, and we need your help to make that happen:

If you have Senate representation, ask your senators to take a stand against Supreme Court corruption. Make sure your senators are being vocal about the need for a thorough investigation into Alito's corruption. Congress cannot just accept a corrupt court; they must do everything in their power to expose that corruption and root it out.

Take a moment to defend our democracy today.

Indivisible Civics' Truth Brigade

Truth Brigade Big Truths Call featuring Kristina Wilfore Wed. June 12 at 6:30pm ET/3:30pm PT

Register for Indivisible Civics' Truth Brigade's next Big Truths call: Hidden in Plain Sight: Disinfo Attacking Women this Wednesday, June 12 at 6:30pm ET/3:30pm PT. On this month's call, we will be featuring special guest Kristina Wilfore, the Director of Innovation and Global Projects at Reset.tech and an adjunct professor at the George Washington University Elliott School of International Affairs. Join us for a wonderfully informative session from an incredible expert. For a quick preview from Kristina:

"Weaponizing social media against women leaders with gendered disinformation and hate is one of the most effective mechanisms deployed to erode democratic institutions, divide social groups, exercise foreign influence, and support the growth of transnational far-right movements. Attacks that aim to undermine women leaders reach millions at very low cost, and represent an early warning of democratic backsliding. Fact-checking and de-bunking efforts to expose disinformation are important, but not sufficient to ever stop its spread. For that, a concerted and coordinated whole of society effort is needed to bolster a rights-based approach to information integrity."
