Friend, we’re so grateful to everyone who rushed emergency donations in the wake of the devastating earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria — but we’re still a long way from gathering all the resources we need to help every child recover from this disaster. Please keep reading to learn about three of the children who could benefit from your support today:
The moment they felt their house start to shake, 10-year-old Sara* and her family ran outside, unprepared for the winter storms and utter destruction all around them. Now, they’re staying in a Save the Children-supported emergency shelter where they’ve received essential supplies like food, blankets and warm clothing. As displaced children like Sara face frigid temperatures and an uncertain future, the need for winterization kits, food and clean water remains dire.
Both 12-year-old Ahmad* and 6-year-old Dina* were trapped in their home in Northern Syria for four hours after the earthquake struck. Their parents were injured while they did everything they could to protect Ahmad and Dina. Now, their home is destroyed, their father is in the hospital and they’re staying in a tent provided by our partner organization. Although Ahmad and Dina are physically healthy, they’re traumatized and will need ongoing support as their family works to rebuild their lives.
Friend, the Children’s Emergency Fund is an essential resource as we prepare for and respond to the significantly increasing number of people who need humanitarian assistance. Children are always the most at risk right when an emergency strikes, and by donating to this fund you can help provide fast, efficient aid and make a lifesaving difference when children need it most.
Thank you so much for helping us protect children like Sara, Ahmad and Dina when they need us most. Because of you, they and millions more children will have the hope of a brighter future.
