Dear MoveOn member, 

I'm Valeria from the MoveOn Petition Platform Team, which helps support thousands of petitions started by MoveOn members and progressive partner organizations each year, and I wanted to thank you all for all your support last year. We had a very successful year with many wins for our communities around the country—on the local, state, and federal level, affecting changes in school boards, corporate practices, and public policy—and it was all thanks to you!

By starting, signing, sharing, and mobilizing around petitions, you have been part of social change. Petitions are a great way to show support for a cause, get the attention of your community on an important issue, and demonstrate to elected officials the strength and unity of our communities.

Signing or even starting a petition gives power to members of our community who, because of our country's system failures, often are silenced. Even if you can't vote, you can always advocate for your community with a petition. You know as well as anyone in your community what kind of change and progress is needed there.

You are the best-qualified person to start this petition: You are a member of your community, you know your community's needs, you are familiar with MoveOn's petition platform, and you have the full support of MoveOn's staff as a resource.
