Dear MoveOn member,
There are five days left before polls close in the Georgia Senate runoff between Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker. We know this race will be decided by only a few thousand votes—or less—and we're pulling out all the stops for the final push.
Here's what we have planned for these final days:
- Hosting a star-studded get-out-the vote virtual rally with celebrities, including Chelsea Handler, Padma Lakshmi, and Bradley Whitford, to help make sure no Warnock voter forgets that they need to vote again next week.
- Supercharging our voter outreach through phone banks, texts, precinct-level voter contacts on election day, and other get-out-the-vote actions.
- Running hard-hitting digital ads across platforms like YouTube and Facebook to make sure voters—especially young people and people of color—vote for Warnock.
In addition, we're supporting groups on the ground working to turn out people of color.
We know these strategies work. It's how we were able to defy history and stop the Republicans' midterm "red wave." But in order to fully fund all this work, we need to raise $100,000 in the next 48 hours.
Will you donate $3 to MoveOn and help us defeat Herschel Walker in Georgia next Tuesday?
The difference between Raphael Warnock and Herschel Walker couldn't be greater.
Raphael Warnock is the senior pastor at the historic Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, the former pulpit of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.1 He's led the effort to expand Medicaid in Georgia under the Affordable Care Act. He's one of the strongest champions of abortion rights and voting rights in the U.S. Senate.2
Herschel Walker, on the other hand, would be Donald Trump's biggest stooge in the U.S. Senate. His ex-wife sought a protective order after he repeatedly made death threats against her and once even put a gun to her head.3 He's been exposed for unethical business practices.4 He falsely claims to have served as a police officer, once even pulling out a fake badge during a Senate debate.5 And then there's the epic hypocrisy of his support to ban abortion while paying for multiple women to abort pregnancies that he fathered.6
Runoff elections are all about turnout. We know the state is divided nearly 50-50. The question is which side will be able to get their voters out to the polls to vote again on December 6. The Republican Super PACs can spend almost unlimited amounts of corporate money to flood the airwaves with attack ads and lies, but as a people-powered organization, we rely on small donations from everyday people like you.
Thanks for all you do.
