Friend, for my family and me, food is such a big part of the holiday season. But as we enjoy baking cookies, building gingerbread houses and spending quality time together, we cannot forget about the millions of children who are struggling with hunger.
That’s just one reason why I started working with Save the Children 14 years ago – because I believe we all have a responsibility to do everything we can to help children grow up healthy, educated and safe. Today, I’m asking you to join me.
This year, heartbreaking events like the war in Ukraine, natural disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic have all worsened the global hunger crisis, putting children’s lives and futures at risk here in the United States and across the world. Those of us in a position to help need to do everything we possibly can. That’s what Save the Children’s Get Fed Up movement is all about.
From my home state of West Virginia, to war-torn Ukraine, to the Horn of Africa, hunger is robbing children of their childhood. Kids can’t play when they’re hungry. They can’t focus on school. They can’t dream or hope for a brighter future. But together, we can help millions of children get the support they need to overcome unimaginable hardships like hunger and realize their full potential.
Your compassionate gift today can help millions of kids get the nutritious food and lifesaving medicines they need to grow up healthy. It can help them get the educational materials and support they need to grow up educated. And it can help them get the emergency shelter and protection they need to grow up safe.
Thank you for standing with me in the fight to create better, brighter futures for children around the world. Truly, I can’t think of anything more important.
