The moment to stop the next mass shooting is right now.
In the seven years that Abbott has been in office, Texas has suffered six mass shootings. Yet instead of taking action to prevent another, Abbott has deliberately put the gun lobby ahead of the lives of our children, our families, and our communities.
Instead of listening to the people of Texas and following the advice of law enforcement, Abbott signed a dangerous permitless carry law that makes it easier to carry a loaded gun in public without any background check, training, or permit.
Instead of immediately going to Uvalde to be with the community, Abbott went to a political fundraiser 300 miles away just hours after the shooting. He was counting dollars while they were counting bodies.
Instead of working to stop the next slaughter right now, Abbott is continuing to make his priority the gun lobby.
There will be more Uvaldes, El Pasos, Sutherland Springs, and Santa Fes until we remove gun lobby politicians like Greg Abbott from office. We have the power to change this, and we will.

These massacres aren't natural disasters, acts of God, or random.
They are totally predictable, direct consequences of the choices made by Greg Abbott and the majority of those in the legislature.
Imagine if we had a Governor who believed in listening to the people who elected him. Who took action to create a safer, healthier state. A Governor who serves the people of Texas instead of special interests and corporate donors.
Together, we can make that our reality while saving lives.
